Max Verstappen secured pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after a dramatic crash involving Lando Norris disrupted qualifying.

Norris crashed heavily at the final corner of the Jeddah street circuit, bringing out the red flags and ending the session prematurely.

Verstappen, who is currently leading the Drivers’ Championship, had posted the fastest time before the crash occurred, securing himself pole position for the race.

This marks Verstappen’s second pole position in a row, following his pole at the previous race in Qatar.

Lewis Hamilton will start alongside Verstappen on the front row, with Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez filling out the second row.

The crash involving Norris was a scary moment for all involved, but fortunately he emerged from the wreckage unharmed.

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix is the penultimate race of the 2021 Formula 1 season, with just one more race to go in Abu Dhabi.

Verstappen will be looking to extend his lead in the Championship with a strong performance in the race, while Hamilton will be hoping to close the gap and keep his title hopes alive.

The battle for the Championship has been intense all season, and the final two races promise to be just as thrilling.

Stay tuned for all the action from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix!
